Dear J J,
Thought of you when I was reading
Charles Spurgeon's Morning & Evening - February 22
It is not our willful fight in the battle or begging for His strength to sustain.
It is "God Almighty, eternal, omnipotent, stoops from His throne and lays His hands on the Child's hand, stretching HIs arm on the arm of Joseph so that he may be made strong!"
"If there were no covenant, then we would fail indeed; for all grace proceeds from it, as light and heat proceed from the sun...Christian, it may be that the archers have sorely grieved you, shot at you, and wounded you, but still your bow abides in strength; be sure, then, to ascribe all the glory to Jacob's God."
