Put the cell phone down and read...

"...not just reading something but to read poems!" said the announcer from KERA radio station.
I failed teaching my children in this area...I was majored in Chinese Literature, and I can write classical poem and contemporary poem but seemed totally gave it up after I came to United States since I struggle to improve my English all the time.

Thank the Lord for giving me the love for hymns for the past many years.
Through singing the words of the hymns, I learned the Truth, the amazing background of the author, and many of them became the hymns of my heart later.
The meter of the hymns are similar to the froms of our ancient Chinese:  see Tang Poetry
Five-character eight-line regulated verse (wulu): a form of regulated verse with eight lines of five characters each.
Another benefit can be beneficial both in English and in Chinese, which is Psalms in the Bible.
I didn't know how to appreciate it when I was young, but, now, I am blessed by reading and memorizing it in both languages.
