Evening"Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night."
What is this terror? It may be the cry of fire, or the noise of thieves, or fancied appearances, or the shriek of sudden sickness or death. We live in the world of death and sorrow, we may therefore look for ills as well in the night-watches as beneath the glare of the broiling sun. Nor should this alarm us, for be the terror what it may, the promise is that the believer shall not be afraid. Why should he? Let us put it more closely, why should we? God our Father is here, and will be here all through the lonely hours; he is an almighty Watcher, a sleepless Guardian, a faithful Friend. Nothing can happen without his direction, for even hell itself is under his control. Darkness is not dark to him. He has promised to be a wall of fire around his people--and who can break through such a barrier? Worldlings may well be afraid, for they have an angry God above them, a guilty conscience within them, and a yawning hell beneath them; but we who rest in Jesus are saved from all these through rich mercy. If we give way to foolish fear we shall dishonour our profession, and lead others to doubt the reality of godliness. We ought to be afraid of being afraid, lest we should vex the Holy Spirit by foolish distrust. Down, then, ye dismal forebodings and groundless apprehensions, God has not forgotten to be gracious, nor shut up his tender mercies; it may be night in the soul, but there need be no terror, for the God of love changes not. Children of light may walk in darkness, but they are not therefore cast away, nay, they are now enabled to prove their adoption by trusting in their heavenly Father as hypocrites cannot do.
"Though the night be dark and dreary,
Darkness cannot hide from thee;
Thou art he, who, never weary,
Watchest where thy people be."------------------------------------------------The young string players studied Bible with me about Joseph in Genesis.不論我們目前所經歷的是什麼樣的困難，只要“耶和華與他同在”，就有“凡事順利亨通“的應許。也更能像約瑟一樣，連他周圍的人、事都蒙上帝賜福。
When I can do nothing to help myself...
I wonder if he said, "THANK YOU!" 。。
A well-known speaker started off his seminar holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?" Hands started going up. He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this."
He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill. He then asked, "Who still wants it...?" Still the hands were up in the air. "Well," he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now, who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air.
"My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We may feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value.
Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you. The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE.
You are special-Don't EVER forget it." If you do not pass this on, you may never know the lives it touches, the hurting hearts it speaks to, or the hope that it may bring. Count your blessings, not your problems.
Dear J J,
Thought of you when I was reading
Charles Spurgeon's Morning & Evening - February 22
It is not our willful fight in the battle or begging for His strength to sustain.
It is "God Almighty, eternal, omnipotent, stoops from His throne and lays His hands on the Child's hand, stretching HIs arm on the arm of Joseph so that he may be made strong!"
"If there were no covenant, then we would fail indeed; for all grace proceeds from it, as light and heat proceed from the sun...Christian, it may be that the archers have sorely grieved you, shot at you, and wounded you, but still your bow abides in strength; be sure, then, to ascribe all the glory to Jacob's God."
Prayer of Praise at Agape Baptist Church Sunday Worship Service － Christine Liu
Our Heavenly Father,
Blessed be your glorious name, may your name be lifted high on earth today.
We as your children are here to worship you and adore you this morning.
You have created everything good and have sustained everything with your faithfulness and power. You alone are the Lord of all!
With Your great compassion, You have not repaid us for our iniquities.
You have shown us how to have compassion toward others, even our enemies.
With Your long suffering love, You gave your only begotten son, the Lamb of God to become
the perfect Redemption to take away all our sins.
You are the One true God, You are not like idols in this world, they have eyes but cannot see, have ears, cannot hear, have mouth, but cannot speak. Father, You do speak and continue to speak to us through your Living Word, and You give Your Spirit to us. We praise you because you are praiseworthy, we love you because you first loved us!
We trust You because we saw how you guided your people long ago with pillar of cloud by day and protected them with light of the fire by night. Today, you continue to provide for your children with all the goodness. And You promise to return with judgment in your justice and peace.
Now, in this worshiping hour, we want to love you and give you all our praise and adoration
through Jesus Christ, Your beloved Son, and we pray in His most wonderful name, Amen!
I do get energy by talking and being with other people.
Joy is the simplest form of gratitude.」 The best theology would need no advocates; it would prove itself.」
"...not just reading something but to read poems!" said the announcer from KERA radio station.
I failed teaching my children in this area...I was majored in Chinese Literature, and I can write classical poem and contemporary poem but seemed totally gave it up after I came to United States since I struggle to improve my English all the time.
Thank the Lord for giving me the love for hymns for the past many years.
Through singing the words of the hymns, I learned the Truth, the amazing background of the author, and many of them became the hymns of my heart later.
The meter of the hymns are similar to the froms of our ancient Chinese: see Tang Poetry
Five-character eight-line regulated verse (wulu): a form of regulated verse with eight lines of five characters each.
Another benefit can be beneficial both in English and in Chinese, which is Psalms in the Bible.
I didn't know how to appreciate it when I was young, but, now, I am blessed by reading and memorizing it in both languages.
